Where is Yas Island?

Yas Island is situated in Abu Dhabi within The United Arab Emirates (UAE), renowned as a highly coveted holiday spot for tourists globally, with most flocking to Dubai. However, did you know that just approximately an hour and fifteen minutes away lies Abu Dhabi, home to Yas Island.

What is Yas Island?

Yas Island is a vast entertainment complex featuring numerous world class amusement parks, a beach, and a golf course, as well as a Grand Prix car-racing circuit. Here, you have the freedom to indulge in a variety of activities to suit your preferences. Here are a few examples of the thrilling activities available to get your adrenaline pumping:

 

Amusement Parks 

Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

If you are a devoted follower of the historically successful Formula One team (a proud Tifosi) or a die-hard fan of the Ferrari brand, a trip to this theme park is essential! Alternatively, if you simply adore roller coasters, Ferrari World offers over 40 exhilarating rides and attractions suitable for families and thrill-seekers alike. Notably, it is home to the fastest roller coaster in the world, Formula Rossa, reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h (155 mph), where wearing goggles is a requirement. 

Additionally there are entertaining simulators allowing you to experience being behind the wheel of these high-performance race cars. Dining options encompass a range of international flavours, primarily focusing on Italian cuisine.

Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi 

Yas Waterworld offers an array of exciting slides and thrill rides catering to families, kids and thrill seekers. From adrenaline-pumping slides to laid-back river rafting and the largest wave pool in the region, it’s not shocking that this water park has been ranked amongst the top in the world! We can assure you will never be bored in this park, it truly lives up to its reputation of ‘Water’s Greatest Playground’.

Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Over the past century, Warner Bros. Studio has created an array of fantasy worlds on our television screens, providing us with an escape from reality whilst simultaneously bringing to life our favourite characters including iconic DC superheroes, beloved cartoon characters such as Tom and Jerry, and many others. Warner Bros. World introduced us to 29 unique rides and kid-friendly attractions you’ll struggle to find anywhere else, as the largest indoor theme park in the region which promises unforgettable experiences. Meet cherished characters such as Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes or hop onto the ride The Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure.

SeaWorld® Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

At SeaWorld® Yas Island, you can dive into the eight captivating ocean-themed realms, such as Abu Dhabi Ocean, One Ocean, Rocky Point, Micro-ocean, Tropical Ocean, Arctic, Antarctica and Endless Ocean. Each realm offers a unique blend of animal habitats, encounters, play zones, observation spots, thrilling rides including Manta and an entertaining selection of more than 20 live characters and performances, all providing endless opportunities for you to explore! Next to this theme park is Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue where dedicated professionals rescue, rehabilitate and then return marine animals in need.

When should I visit Yas Island?

If you are a huge fan of Formula 1, we recommend visiting Yas Island during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to celebrate the end of the world championship with your favourite drivers! In 2024, this will be on the 8th December! However, if you’d prefer when the crowds are a little calmer, we recommend visiting around the winter months (September up to March).
