Itinerary for Orlando - 2 Weeks

Here's how to spend an amazing two weeks in Orlando, Florida - from meeting Disney Characters in Magic Kingdom Park to riding the Krakatau Aqua Coaster at Universal Volcano Bay.

Day 1: Arrive and relax after your flight

Three polaroids, one of the water tower at Disney Springs, another of a Disney resort and finally one of the boardwalk.

You’ve just landed, and the local time is five hours behind GMT, so take it easy today and use the time to adjust to your surroundings. You have 14 days of fun-filled adventures ahead, so you don’t need to rush into it!

Most flights arrive into Orlando in the afternoon, so we’d suggest leaving the theme parks until tomorrow. If your hotel has a pool, take a dip and cool down from the Floridian heat, or chill on a sun lounger.

In the evening, head to either Universal CityWalk or Disney Springs for a delicious dinner. Both complexes offer world-class dining, live entertainment, and plenty of shops.

Travelling as a family or a larger group? An Orlando villa can be a brilliant alternative to a hotel room for a trip this length. With your own private pool, multiple bedrooms and plenty of space to spread out, a villa gives you the perfect base to ease into your two weeks before the theme park fun begins. Take a look at Orlando villas with private pools to see what's available near the parks.

Day 2: Enjoy Magic Kingdom Park

Three polaroids, one with Mickey Mouse and a girl, one with people sat in the dumbo spin ride and the last featuring two young kids hugging Cinderella by the castle.

A holiday to Orlando wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the Disney magic, so what better place to start than Magic Kingdom Park? Head to the iconic Cinderella Castle as your first stop. It’ll give you that warm fuzzy feeling you can only get at Walt Disney World Resort!

Spend the rest of the day meeting the Disney Characters, trying the exhilarating rides, and watching the spectacular shows. There are six lands to explore and so much to see. Stick around until the evening to see the park’s grand finale: Happily Ever After. Watch in awe as fireworks illuminate the night sky and the castle comes to life with an amazing projection show.

Top tip: Magic Kingdom Park has the most rides out of the four parks in Walt Disney World Resort, so you may not be able to do them all in one day. Use the Disney Genie Service included in your Disney Magic Ticket to maximise your time in the shortest queues for the rides that best suit you. You might even want to consider purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day to gain access to Lightning Lane queues on certain rides.

Don’t miss at Magic Kingdom Park:

  • Cinderella Castle
  • TRON Lightcycle / RUN
  • Tiana's Bayou Adventure - the newest ride at Walt Disney World Resort
  • Mad Tea Party - a ride that’s been there since opening day and is still much-loved
  • Meet Disney Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, and Mickey Mouse
  • Happily Ever After fireworks show

Day 3: Try world-class rides at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Three polaroid pictures showing two rollercoasters and young children meeting Sesame Street characters

Epic rides and animal encounters are just some of the key attractions at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Don't miss Phoenix Rising, the park's newest coaster and North America's tallest and longest inverted family coaster, set in the vibrant Pantopia area. Race around the track on Iron Gwazi, a wooden and steel hybrid coaster. Come face-to-face with the 80-foot-tall King Cobra on Cobra’s Curse, and, if you’re feeling brave enough, try Serengeti Flyer, one of the park’s latest attractions, and the tallest and fastest of its kind in the world!

For an unforgettable experience, try the Serengeti Safari Tour. Here, you get up close and personal with the animals and you can even hand-feed a giraffe!

Top tip: Your Busch Gardens ticket includes free return coach transfer from multiple locations throughout Orlando on the Busch Gardens Shuttle Express.

Don’t miss at Busch Gardens:

  • Phoenix Rising - the park's newest coaster
  • Falcon’s Fury - a 335-foot drop ride for ultimate thrill seekers
  • Iron Gwazi

You don’t want to miss Pandora - The World of Avatar, a 12-acre land inspired by the blockbuster movie. Ride on the back of a Banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage or float along a sacred river into the depth of a bioluminescent rainforest on Na’vi River Journey.

Top tip: Ride Kilimanjaro Safaris first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon. The slightly cooler weather usually means the animals are more active than in the middle of the day.

  • Meet Disney Characters Mickey and Minnie in their jungle explorer attire

On Day 13, you could visit a water park or LEGOLAND Florida. For thrill-seekers, Aquatica boasts the tallest and steepest multi-drop tower slide in Orlando, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls. If you’re looking for something tamer, Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks are fun for the whole family.

Day 14: Tick something off your bucket list

Three polaroid images showing a rocket launch, Clearwater Beach and two people in a MuckyDucks vehicle

Orlando’s theme parks are some of the best in the world, but there’s more to see outside of the parks. End your trip on a high (literally!) with an unforgettable hot air balloon flight over Orlando, or see a live rocket launch at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

The whole family can embark on an off-road adventure through 240 acres of woodlands, splash through lakes, and get very muddy on an exhilarating Mucky Ducks experience.

If you’d prefer something more relaxing, spend the day soaking up the sun on the white sands of Clearwater Beach and try the Dolphin Encounter. Sail across the stunning waters of the Gulf of Mexico and see these gorgeous creatures in their natural habitat.

Staying for two weeks? Consider an Orlando Villa!

For a trip this long, a private villa can work out more comfortable, and often better value, than booking a hotel room for 14 nights. Many Orlando villa communities come with their own water parks, lazy rivers and games rooms, ideal for those well-earned down days like Day 1 and Day 7. Explore Orlando villas near the theme parks and find the perfect home base for your two-week adventure.
