The USS IOWA is a battleship that has served in four wars throughout her history and is conveniently located at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro.

Originally commissioned in 1942, let the USS Iowa take you on a journey through WWII, the Korean War and the Cold War to experience the life of a sailor on the lead ship of the last class of gunships.

It is the only battleship equipped with a bathtub which was installed for FDR (Franklin Delano Rosevelt) when the Iowa took him to North Africa for important meetings with Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin during WWII.

A visit to the USS Iowa is an activity that can be shared by those with a lot of interest in military history as well as those with moderate interest - you'd be surprised by what you will learn on board! The Battleship IOWA is located at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. Additionally, the attraction is just a 60-minute drive from Los Angeles.

Hours of operation:

Daily, year round from 10.00am-5.00pm. Please note Battleship IOWA is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Last admission is at 4.00pm.

    Yes, ADA accessible. A chair lieft has been installed to assist guests to the main deck. Their are many obstacles on board such as high door frames and stair cases that are safety hazards. During extremely high tides, access for wheelchairs is restricted tso please call ahead to help plan your visit.
