Dubai is steadily becoming a major thrill-seeking and adventure-packed holiday destination for the whole family. And, although there are plenty of adventurous things to do for adults and older children, the little ones definitely aren’t forgotten either! Check out these fun-filled attractions and experiences which are perfect to keep the kids entertained in Dubai.
1. LEGOLAND Dubai
The newly-opened LEGOLAND Dubai is heaven for young children who love theme parks but aren’t quite big enough to go on the rides at Dubai’s other new theme parks. The brightly coloured park and kid-centric focus will make sure the kids are entertained for hours – from feeling like a giant over at Miniland, to getting your LEGO driving license in LEGO city and even getting to ride the exhilarating Dragon Coaster attraction.
If the kids can’t get enough of LEGO, make sure you extend your day at the LEGOLAND Dubai Park with a trip over to the water park, where the kids can splash around in the LEGO wave pool and the Build a Raft River among other kid-friendly attractions.
The kids will love you for booking a trip to the incredible Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis the Palm. There’s plenty for kids and adults alike to love at this amazing water park so it’s fun for the whole family. The brave kids will want to make a beeline for the Leap of Faith – a mind-blowing ride that rushes riders down a 61m slide at speeds of up to 60mph before plunging them through a shark-infested tank and out with a huge splash!
If your children aren’t big enough for the big thrill rides, they’ll still find plenty of fun at the Splashers zone – a water playground especially designed for children under 12 metres. There are 10 water slides, plenty of water jets and splash opportunities and even 2 gigantic dumping buckets to keep them entertained!
3. Ski Dubai
You might be surprised to know that you can go skiing in the heart of the ‘desert’ of Dubai at the Ski Dubai center, where little ones too small to ski can enjoy tobogganing and even a penguin encounter – yep, penguins in Dubai! If the children are old enough to ski and snowboard, they can join the adults with a 2-hour pass to the Ski Dubai slopes, which range from gentle nursery slopes to the world’s first indoor black run.
Everything you’ll need for the skiing or snowboarding experience is included with your admission price, so if the kids are looking like they need a break from the Dubai heat, this is a great option.
4. Wild Wadi Water Park
More than 30 amazing rides and attractions should be enough to entertain the kids for one day don’t you think? And, if that sounds like a bit of a daunting number to you, entrance to the Wild Wadi water park is worth it just to escape the heat and ‘relax’ in the largest wave pool in the Middle East or float along the 360-metre lazy river which snakes around the park.
Those that are big enough and brave enough to go on the rides will love the insane Jumeriah Sceirah, a 120 metre drop slide which will leave you screaming as you crash down at speeds of 80kmph! That’s definitely enough to keep the whole family entertained for the day.
5. The Lost Chambers at Atlantis the Palm
Come face to face with more than 65,000 incredible marine animals in the jaw-dropping Lost Chambers at Atlantis the Palm aquarium, which is based on the legend of the lost city of Atlantis. There are jellyfish, seahorses and stingrays among many other species of marine life for the children to marvel at as they learn about the legend of the most civilised city in the world, tragically lost beneath the waves.
Pair your ticket with a visit to Aquaventure water park to save money and time, as they are both located at the iconic Atlantis the Palm resort.
