We’ve been waiting a long time for Iron Gwazi to open at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Originally set to open in Spring 2020 before being delayed for obvious reasons, this much-anticipated coaster will now open on March 11th 2022!
Iron Gwazi combines the nostalgia of the original wooden Gwazi coaster with the innovation of newer steel components to give guests an all-new thrill experience. 206-foot tall at its peak, this is the tallest hybrid coaster in North America, but that’s not all. It’s also the fastest AND steepest hybrid rollercoaster in the world, sending riders down a 91-degree drop at speeds of up to 76 miles per hour!
This is the tenth coaster in Busch Garden’s ride portfolio and it’s definitely one that was worth waiting for. With 4,000 feet of track, featuring a dozen airtime moments and three thrilling inversions, this will be an unforgettable attraction for the whole family.
