Gatorland Orlando

Gatorland has been in Orlando since 1949 and has so many surprising elements, it makes for a great day out for the whole family. As well as over 10,000 alligators, they have a petting zoo, wild cats, tropical birds and a nature walk. There is a fun and thrilling swamp buggy tour, the Stompin’ Gator off-road adventure, and an award-winning zipline that dangles you directly over the alligator breeding pond… The Screamin’ Gator Zipline sends you flying from towers over seven stories tall, while 130 toothy alligators swim below, ready to pounce. For younger guests, there is a water splash zone, a scenic train and various fun and educational demonstrations throughout the day. This exciting excursion allows you to escape the controlled environment of the famous theme parks and explore Orlando’s wild nature in the central Florida Everglades. Guests of any age can enjoy Boggy Creek Airboat rides, which take you on a fun tour through the swamps in search of wild alligators, tropical birds and turtles.  It’s a unique opportunity to see some of Florida’s wildlife in their natural environment. There is also an interactive Native American Experience at Boggy Creek and a delicious BBQ, featuring grilled ribs, burgers and brisket, which you can enjoy out on the gorgeous sun deck.

Wonderworks

There is a huge choice of attractions along the famed International Drive, (or I-Drive as it is more commonly known), but the most curious is the large upside down house. This topsy turvy home is the residence of Wonderworks, a quirky and fun attraction that includes a bubble lab, laser tag and a glow-in-the-dark ropes course. The crazy world of science is presented in a fun way that both kids and adults will love. Plus, find out what it feels like to lay on a bed of nails!

I-Drive NASCAR Go-Karting

NASCAR Orlando

This high-octane racetrack has been built in a huge airport hanger just off I-Drive. Race your friends and family in speedy go-karts to be crowned king of the road. Racing fans will love the circuit, which features 12 turns, three hairpins, one chicane and even a famous 'Senna S' stretch. Off the track, there is a huge arcade and bowling alley, providing hours of entertainment. Advance race tickets are open-dated, so you can visit any day you want. Top tip: this is the perfect attraction to do if Orlando’s usually sunny weather surprises you with a rainy day!

The Wheel at Icon Park

The Wheel ICON Park

Orlando’s iconic Ferris wheel can be spotted for miles and you can see even further from the top. Eagle-eye guests have spotted Walt Disney World’s Epcot globe and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror as well as Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay. When visibility is clear, you can actually see all the way to the beaches on the east coast. Individual pods take you on a skyline tour of Orlando with onboard iPads to give you information on the sights. Over 21s can enjoy the view with a glass of Champagne on the Champagne Experience. Early morning usually offers the clearest skies but the most magical time to ride The Wheel at Icon Park is at sunset. The orange sky is spectacular. Click here to book tickets

SeaLife and Madame Tussauds Orlando

Icon Park is also home to Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE Orlando, as well as a complex of shops, bars and restaurants. There is so much to do; you could spend the whole day here. Get your selfie with some famous faces at Madame Tussards., including local celebrity Walt Disney himself.  Wannabe popstars can pose on stage with Rihanna, or if you are more of a football fan, David Beckham and Tiger Woods are happy to be papped. Sealife Orlando is ideal for younger families, with kids mesmerized by the 360-degree underwater tunnel and a hands-on interactive rock pool. Enjoy both with the Madame Tussauds and SeaLife Orlando combo ticket.
