PortAventura is set to increase its popularity over the next year with the addition of super car-inspired theme park FerrariLand in 2016 and the summer 2015 European debut of the Amaluna Cirque du Soleil show. Already the most popular theme park in Spain and the 6th most visited theme park destination in Europe, the park is nonetheless dedicated to improving its services and customer enjoyment with these high-profile additions!
FerrariLand is set to cover 75,000 square meters when it opens in 2016, allowing plenty of room for some incredible new attractions on a global scale. Ferrari fanatics will love the park’s design, with the main building even designed to be modelled into the shape of a Formula 1 car!
The new park is already slated to be home to the highest rollercoaster in Europe, standing at an impressive 112 metres and with a hair raising acceleration of 180km/h, the equivalent of 1.5 G! Riders are shot 112 metres into the air within seconds of being secured into their seat, before being plummeted back to earth at inclines of up to 90 degrees. FerrariLand still promises to cater to all the family though, with a range of attractions to please everyone.
In addition to the exciting news from FerrariLand, PortAventura also announced that the resort will receive the first European showing of Cirque du Soleil’s incredible Amaluna show! Amaluna is an epic love story set on an island in the aftermath of a storm set to famous Cirque du Soleil staging and music feats. Watch as the handsome young suitor washed up on the island courts and romances the daughter of Queen Prospera, despite the forces which intend to keep them apart.
This unmissable show opens to audiences on July 3 and runs until August 23, 2015 so make sure you get in there quickly to secure your tickets!
