Two spectacular new rides have opened in the dedicated Hunger Games area of the Lionsgate land within MOTIONGATE Dubai, part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts theme park and entertainment complex. Prepare yourself for the adrenaline-fuelled half-pipe roller coaster ‘Capitol Bullet Train’ – the super-speed mode of transport to take you from District 12 to the world of Panem. The ride is a launched coaster which features a forward and backward launch, as well as multiple inversions to really keep that thrill level up.
The second ride is the Panem Aerial Tour, a hovercraft motion simulator ride that takes guests on an aerial flight over the iconic landmarks of Panem. The ride vehicles have been specially designed to replicate the hovercrafts in the film and visitors will ride over footage designed exclusively for the Dubai Parks and Resorts attraction. It’s not long though before this peaceful flight draws the attention of Panem Peacekeepers and guests are drawn into a battle for survival! The motion simulator experience is also in 4D – so look out for lighting, smell and sensory effects to complete the attraction.
There will also be two other immersive experiences for guests at Lionsgate to enjoy – a high-octane percussion show called Coal Miner’s Clash and a bakery owned by hero Peeta. Peeta’s Bakery sells themed food and drink while the Panem Supply Co is the place to go for all your gifts and memorabilia.
That’s not all there is to enjoy at MOTIONGATE Dubai though; the park boasts 5 intricately themed lands including Smurfs Village, Dreamworks and a Columbia Pictures inspired area featuring a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs river expedition ride.
