Universal have just announced that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is about to get even more magical thanks to a brand new night-time show called “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle”! The good news for Harry Potter fans, is that there’s not long to wait, as the show will make its debut next month on 23rd June. Here’s what you need to know…
The new night-time spectacular will give visitors the chance to experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in a whole new light…literally! The dazzling light projection show will take place against the backdrop of the iconic Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Watch in awe as stunning beams of light and bursts of colour dance across the castle’s façade. If you want to get the best view, take in the show from Hogsmeade Village.
You’ll hear the familiar voice of the famous Sorting Hat echo across the park as the 5-minute spectacular begins. Flashes of Red, Green, Yellow and Blue light will cover the castle to symbolise the four houses of Hogwarts School- Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. The park’s Senior Manager of Audio and Visual Projection (Stacey Quinealty) has described the show as “bone chilling”, and says she hopes it will make guests think “wow this is something I’ve never experienced before”. The exciting new show will take place several times throughout the evening, and is an unforgettable way to end your day at the park. Make sure you don’t miss it!
The state-of-the-art light display and special effects projection will be accompanied by an incredible musical arrangement created by Academy Award-winning composer John Williams. It will be a nostalgic medley of music based on his original scores for the film series, that fans will instantly recognise. Recorded by a live orchestra in the famous Abbey Road Studios in London, the score will be piped through a high-tech sound system which will give the audience “a sense that they are wrapped by the orchestra, not just watching something from a distance”.
There’s lots more magic to be found at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter too. Guests can go shopping in Hogsmeade, find their perfect wand, watch the Triwizard Spirit Rally and much more. Make sure you ride the star attraction- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. This action-packed adventure takes you on a thrilling journey through the castle, with plenty of surprises along the way. A visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter isn’t complete until you’ve tried an ice-cold glass of Butterbeer, so grab a glass before watching this amazing Hogwarts show.
