After mixing with princesses and staring in awe at Sleeping Beauty’s spectacular castle, make your way next door to the Walt Disney Studios Park for a real taste of adventure. Here is our top pick of the things you really can’t miss during your visit…
Try the thrilling rides:
The Walt Disney Studios Park is home to some of the most iconic rides at Disneyland Paris. If you love big thrills, put your bravery to the test on the petrifying Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, as you plunge 13 floors down an elevator shaft in total darkness, before shooting straight back up again! The exhilarating Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is another must-try and features an incredible soundtrack courtesy of Aerosmith, to get your heart racing. RC Racer and Crush’s Coaster should also make any thrill seekers list.
Dine at Chez Rémy:
If you’re a fan of Disney’s Ratatouille (who isn’t?) then you must make a reservation at Chez Rémy. Ever since it first opened in July 2014, the restaurant has become one of the most popular at the resort so booking in advance really is necessary! Designed to show the world from a “rat’s eye view”, everything is oversized from the huge umbrellas, to enormous cook books and colossal cutlery. It’s not just the décor that’s impressive either, the French cuisine is amazing. Dine on tasty dishes like grilled steak with French fries, roasted cod, and of course ratatouille.
Meet your favourite characters:
After meeting Disney royalty next door at the Disneyland Park, make the most of the exciting opportunity to meet some of the newest additions to the Disney family at Walt Disney Studios. You’ll be able to snap selfies and get autographs from the likes of Moana, as well as Spider-Man, Buzz Lightyear and of course- Mickey and the gang.
Watch a live show:
There are several shows to choose from at the Walt Disney Studios Park, meaning there’s something for everyone. If you’re visiting with little ones, they’ll love the chance to get up close to the characters they’ve seen on screen in the all-singing, all-dancing ‘Disney Junior Live!’. For something more adventurous the ‘Moteurs…Action! Stunt Show Spectacular’ features some famous four-wheeled friends (from Cars) as well as some epic stunts! Watch the cars skid, swerve and jump through fire in this breath-taking performance.
The park’s newest show ‘Mickey and the Magician’ begins on 18th March and brings the magic of Disney to life right before your eyes. Watch in awe as incredible illusions and special effects come together to create a truly spellbinding show. There’ll be appearances from Queen Elsa, the Genie, Rafiki, Lumière and Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother too!
Studio Tram Tour:
The Studios Tram Tour is a great opportunity to go behind the scenes of movie making. Board a high-tech tram and get ready for a guided tour around the Production Courtyard, with the voice of Jeremy Irons as your guide. What seems like a relaxing tour suddenly turns into an action-packed adventure filled with special effects, blazing fire and pouring rain! Look out for authentic film props along the way as you pass life-size sets from popular Disney movies.
The tour is currently closed until 7th April, but if you’re visiting after this time, you won’t want to miss it. The attraction is getting some incredible enhancements, and while nothing has been confirmed, rumours suggest that the new additions could include Star Wars, Cars and Marvel updates.
