A Bronx Tale:

 

A Bronx Tale Broadway 2016

 

It’s been called a “combination of Jersey Boys and West Side Story”, and is the new Broadway show that everyone’s talking about. Based on the highly acclaimed play that inspired the smash hit movie, A Bronx Tale takes you back to life in the Bronx in the 1960’s, where a young boy is struggling to find his way. When the local mob boss takes him under his wing, he is forced to choose between his relationship with his father, or trying to make an impression on his new gang-leading “father figure”. The upbeat score has been created by composer Alan Menken, who has produced scores for countless classic movies like Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. Directed by the legendary Robert De Niro (who also starred in the movie), this is one you really won’t want to miss! Great for fans of the film, fans of great music and fans of De Niro.

Frozen:

 

Frozen Broadway 2018

 

Another Disney classic is set to dazzle the Broadway stage, joining existing productions The Lion King and Aladdin. Fans of the icy phenomenon will be thrilled with the news that their favourite movie is going to be adapted into a spectacular Broadway show. Rumours had been circulating for some time that Frozen was coming to the Big Apple, and now that it’s been officially confirmed we can finally start getting excited! Get ready to meet all of your favourite characters, including Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and the lovable Olaf. Sing along to popular hits like ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’, ‘For the First Time in Forever’ and the Oscar-winning ‘Let it Go’ in this family-friendly musical. With a multi award-winning creative team (including Director Michael Grandage) expected to start work on the production soon, we can’t wait to see what’s in store!

When can I see it? There’s still a while to wait for this one as it’s expected to open in spring 2018.

 

Amélie:

 

Amelie Broadway 2017

 

An exciting new musical is coming to Broadway, based on the popular 2001 movie Amélie. The romantic comedy is set in the beautiful neighbourhood of Montmartre and was shot in over 80 Parisian locations. This highly anticipated Broadway show will immerse the audience into the fascinating story and transport them to the centre of Paris. This debut stage adaptation will tell the story of a shy waitress with a vivid imagination, who decides that she wants to change the lives of those around her for the better.  While few details have been revealed for the new production, it has now been officially confirmed that Phillipa Soo who starred in the award-winning Broadway Show Hamilton will be taking up the lead role of Amélie.

When can I see it? 2017, although no official date has yet been confirmed.

 

Miss Saigon:

 

Miss Saigon Broadway 2017

 

Next year, the world-famous Miss Saigon will return to the Broadway stage for a limited time only. Witness the reprise of a true classic as you relive the heart-warming story all over again. If you’re not familiar with the tale, Miss Saigon is an extraordinary love story that shows the relationship between an American GI and a young Vietnamese woman as the Vietnam War comes to an end. Highly acclaimed leads of the London production Jon Jon Briones and Eva Noblezada, will be joining the Broadway cast to continue their roles as the engineer and Kim. Based on the opera Madame Butterfly, this outstanding musical has an iconic score that has been created by Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby. This is definitely one to add to your must-see list.

Anastasia:

 

 

Based on the popular 1997 film, Anastasia tells the story of a young girl who is desperate to find her family and to discover who she really is. She was brought up in an orphanage after being separated from her grandmother when the evil Rasputin unleashed his wrath on the family at a grand ball held by the Romanov’s. Upon leaving the orphanage, she comes across two devious con men who decide to use her to get a cash reward for reuniting the Dowager Empress of Russia with her long-lost granddaughter. Although, none of them (even Anastasia herself) actually know that she really is the true heir in the Romanov family! Witness the compelling story unfold, as Anastasia embarks on a life-changing adventure, that sees New York City transformed into the city of love- Paris. Go back in time and enjoy memorable hits like ‘Once Upon a December’ in this heart-warming musical.
