Brand-new rides, record-breaking rescues and unforgettable experiences - 2026 is one of the most exciting years yet to visit SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Aquatica Orlando.
If SeaWorld Parks aren’t already at the top of your Florida itinerary, they should be. AttractionTickets.com has been helping UK families pre-book tickets to SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Aquatica Orlando for over 20 years, and right now, all three parks are delivering some of their most extraordinary experiences to date. Here’s why 2026 is the year to go!
1. SeaWorld has just hit 43,000 animal rescues
In May 2026, SeaWorld reached a remarkable milestone: 43,000 animals rescued, rehabilitated and, wherever possible, returned to the wild since the programme began in 1965. That’s six decades of real-world conservation work carried out by veterinary teams who treat animals around the clock.
The 43,000th rescue was a dehydrated, orphaned California sea lion pup found on the back stars of a beach house in Carlsbad, California. In Florida alone, the first five months of 2026 saw SeaWorld Orlando rehabilitate 21 manatees, a baby dolphin, nearly 40 turtles and multiple birds.
These animals are treated in the same park you visit - the rescue centre operates year-round, and seeing it in action is one of the most genuinely moving experiences Florida has to offer!
2. The manatees rescue programme is one of a kind
SeaWorld Orlando is one of only three federally designated manatee critical-care centres in the entire United States, operating a five-acre facility capable of caring for up to 60 manatees simultaneously. It’s the largest manatee rescue operation in the country.
In March 2025, the team celebrated their 1,000th manatee rescue - a milestone that took nearly five decades to reach. Every one of those rescues involved real people, real animals and real stories.
One that stays with you is Reckless and Churro: a mother-and-calf pair rescued in 2022. Reckless had a shattered shoulder from a boat strike; Churro was just one to two days old. SeaWorld’s veterinary team performed 12 lifesaving procedures and provided more than 17,000 hours of specialised care over 20 months before returning them both to the wild.
Earlier in 2026, a manatee named Melby was rescued from a storm drain in Melbourne Beach in a joint operation that required tearing up the road. After gaining over 100 pounds at SeaWorld Orlando’s facility, Melby was released back to the wild in April 2026. Stories like these happen here every year!
3. 2026 brings brand-new rides and experiences
SeaWorld Parks never stand still, and 2026 is one of the strongest years for new attractions across all three parks.
At SeaWorld Orlando, Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice had its grand opening on 25th May 2026. It’s a story-driven flying theatre experience where guests are recruited into AERIS (Arctic Environmental Research & Integrated Sciences), board a prototype drone craft and soar through Arctic landscapes and erupting volcanoes.
Also at SeaWorld Orlando, SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep is set to open in 2026. It’s billed as the world’s first suspended dark ride of its kind, built by Vekoma, with submarine-style vehicles that offer 360° rotation and swinging motion in a fully indoor setting.
Over at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the brand-new Lion & Hyena Ridge is set to open this year - a nearly 35,000-square-foot expansion of the Edge of Africa area and the park’s most ambitious new habitat in more than a decade (more on that below!).
4. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is unlike any other theme park
There is seriously nowhere else quite like Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Part world-class thrill ride destination, part accredited zoo - it’s a park where you can ride one of the fastest roller coasters on earth and then watch a family of lions settle into their new home, all in the same afternoon.
Lion & Hyena Ride is the park’s headline addition for 2026. Five young male lion brothers - Pascal, Lou, Henry, Hugo and Herman, all born in 2024 - now roam a spectacular habitat alongside hyenas Cazi and Dazi. The 35,000-square-foot space features 270° glass viewing areas, kopje-style rock formations and cascading water elements. Park President Brian Bacica describes it as “the most ambitious new habitat in more than a decade.”
The coasters are something else entirely. Iron Gwazi is the world’s fastest and steepest hybrid coaster - a steel-over-wood creation by Rocky Mountain Construction that reaches 76 mph and drops at 91°, and was awarded Best New Roller Coaster at the Golden Ticket Awards.
Phoenix Rising, which opened in July 2024, is North America’s tallest and longest inverted family roller coaster at 80 feet tall, and comes with onboard audio featuring four uniquely themed phoenixes - Terra, Ignis, Glacius and Aqua - randomly selected on each ride cycle, so no two trips are quite the same!
5. Electric Ocean turns SeaWorld into something magical after dark
Running on select nights from 12th June to 7th September 2026, Electric Ocean is SeaWorld Orlando’s breathtaking summer evening event, and 2026 brings the most spectacular line-up yet!
The indoor Hydro Surge cirque-style show runs nightly at the Nautilus Theatre, combining acrobatics, dancing and live music in an air-conditioned setting - a welcome break from the Florida heat. The Club SeaGlow DJ party brings an energetic, family-friendly atmosphere to Bayside Stadium throughout the evening.
Every night closes with the event’s show-stopping finale: an all-new synchronised drone show, with hundreds of drones forming glowing sea creatures, rolling waves and ocean-inspired scenes set to the pulse of Feeling Electric, before flowing directly into the Ignite Fireworks Spectacular.
The fireworks display wraps around the park’s expansive central lake, meaning stunning views are available from multiple spots across the park. 2026 is the first year all three US SeaWorld Parks - Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio - feature drone shows in the same season.
Electric Ocean is free with regular park entry, so you won’t need to pay any extra fees!
6. Sesame Street Land is pure magic for the little ones
Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando is a brilliantly realised corner of the park for younger visitors, and one of the most joyful family experiences in Florida. This colourful neighbourhood brings the beloved TV show to life with rides, interactive experiences and the chance to meet Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and friends.
Rides include Super Grover’s Box Car Derby junior coaster (minimum height 38 inches), Abby’s Flower Tower and a splash zone ideal for warm Florida afternoons. Throughout the land, interactive touches include a Tow-Heading Monster pipe telephone, a community centre monster-creation station and a Foodie Truck with Cookie Monster and Gonger. The Breakfast with Elmo & Friends character dining experience at Seafire Grill is also a lovely way to start the day.
It’s part of the park that genuinely rewards the whole family, and one that the little ones will talk about long after they get home!
7. Aquatica Orlando is an award-winning water park in its own right
Aquatica Orlando - SeaWorld’s dedicated water park - has been named the #1 Outdoor Water Park by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and it’s not hard to see why. The park also holds the award for Best Wave Pool in America, thanks to its unique side-by-side wave pools, Cutback Cove and Big Surf Shores - the only combination of their kind anywhere in the United States.
The returning AquaGlow Party (on select nights, 15th May to 26th September 2026) transforms the park after dark with a neon atmosphere, a Mini Rave Party, the reimagined Electric Tides laser show and the all-new Riptide Ravers experience.
Aquatica is also the world’s first Certified Autism Centre water park, certified by IBCCES, with a quiet room, sensory guides and fully trained staff, making it one of the most inclusive water parks on the planet.
8. All-Day Dining is genuinely great value
One of the smartest add-ons at SeaWorld Orlando is the All-Day Dining Deal, and it makes a real difference to your day. For £49 per adult and £24 per child (aged 3-9), you get one entreé, one side or dessert and one non-alcoholic drink every 90 minutes at participating restaurants throughout the park, including Voyager’s Smokehouse, Expedition Café, Seafire Grill and more.
Given that a typical theme park meal costs between £12-£18 per adult, the deal pays for itself after a couple of meals and a snack. It means no mid-afternoon budgeting decisions when you should be enjoying the park. At AttractionTickets.com, you can easily add All-Day Dining to your booking before you travel.

9. Quick Queue lets you make the most of every single minute
Peak season at SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay can mean wait times of 45 to 75 minutes for the most popular rides. Quick Queue cuts through all of that.
At SeaWorld Orlando, Quick Queue Unlimited typically starts at around £14.99 in off-peak periods, while Quick Queue Unlimited PLUS adds reserved show seating and priority access to Pipeline, Penguin Trek and Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice from around £18.99 per person.
At Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Quick Queue Unlimited starts at £45 and covers all the park’s headline attractions, including Iron Gwazi and Phoenix Rising, which regularly attract the longest lines. Pre-booking with AttractionTickets.com means you arrive with everything sorted, so you can head straight for the rides the moment you walk through the gate.
