This morning, in the elaborate setting of the Elysée Palace in Paris, Bob Iger, Disney Chairman and CEO, revealed details of the most significant expansion to Disneyland Paris ever announced.
The smaller of the two Disneyland Paris parks, Walt Disney Studios, will be completely transformed by the addition of three new themed areas. The areas will be based on 3 of Disney’s most iconic names – the incredible world of Marvel, the magic cult-classic Frozen and timeless hit Star Wars! Each of the new areas will be situated around a lake, which will serve as the focal point for brand new entertainment experiences.
“We’re very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success,” said Iger. “The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region.”
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a little while until the first of the new developments is rolled out, with the first phase scheduled to be revealed in 2021. However, in the mean time we look forward to seeing more of these exciting franchises in development, starting with the overhaul of Aerosmith’s Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, which is being given a full Marvel makeover.
Right now, you can visit Disneyland Paris from just £30pp per day. Book your tickets here.
