Authentic Venetian food tour with local expert.
Eat like a true Florentine as you explore five family-run eateries with a local foodie, savouring aperitivo bites, Tuscan pasta, Florentine steak, and gelato—plus plenty of wine and a hands-on Negroni-making experience—all while discovering the rich flavours and traditions that define Florence’s vibrant food scene.
Our guide to Oltrarno at Sunset: Florence Food & Wine Tour
Your evening begins at a cosy corner bar tucked away on a quiet street in Florence’s Oltrarno neighbourhood. Here, you’ll get an introduction to Tuscan cuisine with classic bruschetta, Tuscan salame, aged pecorino cheese, and a glass of Chianti Classico.
Next, you’ll stop at one of Florence’s famous wine windows for a quick sip of Prosecco—a charming local tradition. Then it’s off to a favourite neighbourhood spot to craft Florence’s iconic cocktail: the Negroni. Shake it up like a pro, then enjoy your creation with a warm, freshly baked schiacciata—crisp on the outside, soft within, and perfect for soaking up rich aperitivo flavours.
With your appetite fully awakened, it’s time for dinner. You'll start with a plate of fresh Tuscan pasta before diving into the star of the night: a perfectly cooked bistecca alla fiorentina. This legendary Florentine steak is a must-try, and just one bite will show you why locals are so passionate about it.
To top it all off, you’ll take a leisurely stroll to a beloved gelateria for a scoop (or two) of artisanal gelato, made from organic regional ingredients—because no visit to the birthplace of gelato is complete without it.
