5 Exciting Day Trips from Dubai
Check out some of these beautiful spots in the UAE
You definitely won't be stuck for ideas when it comes to places to visit from Dubai. Here's our top picks of some of the beautiful places you can visit in just one day...

1. Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the UAE and is as decadent and remarkable a destination as you might expect from the United Arab Emirates. Even better, it’s only a 90-minute drive from Dubai so it’s easy to visit in just one day. Abu Dhabi is one of the most beautiful and modern cities in the world and is also home to the remarkable Sheikh Zayed Mosque which is a key place of worship for Friday prayers. Explore the city with a knowledgeable guide as you visit the mosque and the heritage village where you’ll be able to spot the special features of the old town and the old way of life.

Despite Abu Dhabi’s status as a modern and exciting city, it is also one of the greenest areas in the region, with a generous amount of green spaces and parks to enjoy in this otherwise typically dry part of the world. It is also home to some of the most delicious food in the UAE, so stopping for a long lunch is highly recommended. Heading back to Dubai, you’ll have an opportunity to take in the breath-taking Abu Dhabi skyline as well as the man-made beauty of the Yas Islands.

2. Al Ain City

Al Ain City Tour

Al Ain City is the perfect opportunity to discover some of the history of the region as it is one of the oldest settlements in the area and dates back thousands of years. The city started around the fresh water springs as a cluster of villages which has now sprung into a vibrant and green city known as the ‘Garden City’ to locals.

Make sure to check out some of the city’s history at the Al Ain Museum where you can discover ancient Arabic artefacts including manuscripts and royal treasures discovered at a nearby excavation of the city’s ancient sites. History is not just resigned to the museum in Al Ain though, there are also historic forts and villages to be explored, as well as the largest camel market in the UAE, where traders have been trading for centuries.

5. Sharja City

The Blue Souk

Sharjah is the Cultural City of the Arab World, elected by UNESCO to evoke and celebrate the beauty of the region’s history. This half day city tour includes a stop at the beautiful mosque before the tour continues on to the Al Majarrah souk, with its unique golden dome and mosaic dedicated to the 12 signs of the zodiac.
