Where to Find the Best Views in Paris
Take in the sights...
Paris is home to some of those most iconic landmarks in the world (and arguable home to THE most iconic one of all!). It’s also free from skyscrapers, meaning you can enjoy great views of the city from almost anywhere. We have, however, narrowed down a list of our 5 favourite places to take in the sights of Paris from.

Top of the Eiffel Tower

Top of Eiffel Tower

If you can brave the dizzying heights of the top deck of the Eiffel Tower, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the entire city. From this height, cars are the size of ants, but large attractions such as the Trocadero Gardens are brought into stunning perspective. To top it all off, you can enjoy a romantic glass of champagne as you take in the view from the dedicated champagne bar – bliss!

Sacre Coeur

This stunning area of Paris is well known for the Sacre Coeur church and its bohemian vibe, but it’s also a great place to take in the views. From the famous steps in front of the church you can spot the distant sites of Notre Dame Cathedral and the gorgeous domed roof of Invalides among other famous Parisian landmarks. And after walking up all that way (or taking the funicular if you’re not feeling the walk), you can treat yourself to an ice cream or hot chocolate in one of the gorgeous bistros that crowd the top of the hill around the church.

Notre Dame

Gargoyles on top of Notre Dame

The top of Notre Dame Cathedral offers one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower from afar. You can reach the towers from the outside of the cathedral on the left hand side, where you climb 387 to the top of the South Tower, home to the famous Notre Dame gargoyles! From here you can enjoy an unrivalled view of the tower, as well as the gorgeous surrounding St Michel area. On your visit you can also climb into the Belfry to see the bells that Quasimodo rang in the Hunch Back of Notre Dame.

Tour Montparnasse

One of the tallest buildings in Paris, the Tour Montparnasse offers 360◦ views of the city, with the highest elevated platform facing the Eiffel Tower. The building also features the fastest rising elevator in Europe, which means you can whizz straight up and down the 656 foot tall building in no time at all – providing you’re not scared of heights!

Lafeyette Roof Terrace

Galleries Lafayette

Of course, all the above views will be taken in from a place which you would quite like to see included in the view itself! You can avoid this problem by seeing the view from the rooftop of the Galleries Lafayette, where you’ll be able to take in all the above iconic landmarks at once! After a little while snooping around the Parisian version of Harrods, take the escalator to the rooftop and bag a spot to take in this incredible city.
