Our guide to Sydney Bridge Climb - Night Climb
This is your opportunity to climb the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge after the sun has set!
After a comprehensive briefing and safety demonstration is conducted, you will be linked to a static line and ready to climb the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Led by one of BridgeClimb's professional Climb Leaders, journey on a 3 hour guided walk (including preparation and briefing), to the top of the bridge. The Climb takes you along the outer arch of the Bridge on catwalks and ladders all the way to the Summit, 134 metres above Sydney Harbour.
The steady incline to the summit leaves you free to focus your attention on the surroundings, with the opportunity to witness 360 degree views of Sydney including east to the Sydney Opera House, west to the Blue Mountains and the Harbour city surrounds.
Upon conclusion receive a personalised commemorative Climber Certificate and Climber cap.
Please meet at No 3 Cumberland Street, The Rocks. You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your start time.

Terms and conditions for Sydney Bridge Climb - Night Climb
- This tour starts and concludes at No 3 Cumberland Street, The Rocks.
- Please wear suitable enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as runners or hiking shoes. PVC and leather-soled shoes are unsuitable.
- Climbers should be ready to wear a Bridgesuit over their existing clothing. No loose objects can be taken onto the bridge including but not limited to cameras, mobile phones and video cameras.
- Operating hours may change as demand dictates.
- You will receive a complimentary group photo and additional photos of your experience can be purchased locally.
- All climbs are subject to availability. If your selected climb time is not available the next closest time will be booked.
- You must make your own way to the departure point and check in at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled climb time.
- To complete the climb you will need reasonable levels of fitness and strength; full body control and hand-eye-foot co-ordination; ability to climb independently (unsupported by walking aids).
- Climbers over the age of 75 are required to present a Certificate of Fitness, signed by their GP and completed within 3 months from the intended Climb. Once your booking is confirmed climbers aged 75+ will have access to a link, where you can download a certificate of fitness form for your GP to sign.
- If climbers arrive and are unable to Climb due to not meeting the health and safety criteria, BridgeClimb will not be held liable for any credit or refunds requested.
- If you are up to 24 weeks pregnant, you can Climb with a Certificate of Fitness signed by your GP. The form can be downloaded once booked and brought on the day. Unfortunately, if you are more than 24 weeks pregnant you can not climb.
- You cannot take part in the climb if you:
- Are under 1.2 metres in height.
- Have a blood-alcohol reading of 0.05% or higher.
- Have broken bones.
- Have undergone surgery in the last 6 months or are experiencing ongoing symptoms.
- Have experienced a fit or seizure in the past 6 months and do not hold a driver's license for this reason.
- The climb experience includes climbing high ladders and catwalks, prolonged stair climbing, uneven surfaces and narrow passageways, exposure to all weather conditions.
- The following may impact your ability to climb safely:
- All heart conditions (including high blood pressure).
- All respiratory conditions.
- Back, limb, or joint injuries.
- Missing limbs or part thereof inclusive of prosthetics.
- Vertigo, dizziness or loss of balance.
- Visual impairment (except wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses).
- Learning conditons.
- At Bridge Climb's discretion, essential medication may be taken on the Climb (eg asthma inhalers or diabetic medication). Please speak with a Team member on the day. The Climb Leaders are multi-talented as well as exceptional tour guides., they are also trained to capture photos of clients during their Climb.
- Every 3 children aged 8-15 years inclusive must be accompanied by one adult participant on all climbs.
- If any climbers are showing any symptoms of COVID 19 or the Flu, they may be refused entry to BridgeClimb.
- For safety and security reasons, cameras, video technology, mobile devices, jewelry, watches and other loose items are prohibited on the Climb.
- *Cancellation Policy: Free cancellations for bookings cancelled with the operator before 14 days of travel. AUD25.00 per person cancellation fee will be charged for bookings cancelled 13 - 4 days or more prior to travel. - Amendments made to confirmed bookings within 13-4 days will incur a fee of AUD30 per booking. - A fee of 50% of the total tour cost will be charged for bookings cancelled 3 days or less prior to travel. - Amendments made to confirmed bookings within 3 days will incur a fee of AUD100 per booking.
Frequently Asked Questions for Sydney Bridge Climb - Night Climb
- Can children climb?
Yes. To participate you must be 8 years and over 1.2 metres tall. Children aged 8 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult.
- What can I expect when I climb with my children (8 to 15 years)?
When considering whether this activity will be right for your child, you must consider the following: Safety is, and always will be, number one priority for all Climbers. Climbing the Bridge is an all-age experience, and the stories Climb Leaders share during the experience is appropriate for a broad age range. Children will be required to climb with and next to their parent/guardian. To climb the Bridge, children must be 8 years old and 120cm tall to participate. Parents/guardians must remain with their children throughout the Climb experience, and must assist BridgeClimb staff by managing their equipment preparation and behaviour.
- Can seniors climb?
Yes. Anyone who can sustain moderate physical exertion up to 3½ hours over 1.75km should find the BridgeClimb exhilarating. Climbers over the age of 75 are required to present a Certificate of Fitness, signed by their GP on the day of their Climb.
- Can pregnant women climb?
If you are less than 24 weeks pregnant, you can participate with a signed Certificate of Fitness Form from your GP. If you are over 24 weeks pregnant you cannot climb.
- Can hearing-impaired people climb?
Yes. Climbers who wear hearing aids are encouraged to leave them safely in their lockers to prevent damage or loss while they are on the Bridge. There are a variety of headsets available and many of the hearing impaired climbers have agreed that these allowed them to enjoy the commentary delivered by their Climb Leader.
- Can people with a disability, injuries or medical condition climb?
To participate you need to have a general level of health and fitness, and the ability to climb independently.
- What are the climbing conditions on the Bridge?
The conditions vary based on the day’s weather. You can expect to possibly climb ladders and walk on catwalks, participate in prolonged stair climbing, walk along uneven surfaces and via narrow passageways and be exposed to all weather conditions.
- Can I take a camera or video camera?
No, unfortunately not. Climbers cannot take loose objects, including cameras, phones or GoPros, on the Bridge. This is to safeguard against anything falling from the Bridge. There are secure lockers for you to keep your camera or any loose objects in during your Climb. A photographically-trained Climb Leaders will capture photos of you during your Climb. Each climber receives one free group photo as part of the experience. Additional photos are available for pre-purchase with your booking, or from our Photographics Team after your Climb.
- Can I bring medication?
Essential medication, like inhalers or diabetic medication, can be taken on the Climb.
- What kind of shoes should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes. PVC and leather-soled shoes are not ideal.
- Where can I leave my belongings while I’m climbing?
There are secure lockers for you to keep any loose objects in, including phones and cameras, during your Climb. The key to your locker will be securely attached to you at all times.
- What do I need to wear on the day of my climb?
You will receive all the outdoor gear you’ll need for your Climb based on the day’s weather conditions and the health & safety essentials. Please wear comfortable clothing on the day of your Climb in case you need to wear it under your suit for warmth. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to the staff locally.
