Stealth

Stealth at Thorpe Park

Stealth is by far one of the most popular rides at Thorpe Park and once you try it for yourself, you’ll realise why. This amazing roller coaster is not only the fastest roller coaster in the UK but also one of the fastest rides in Europe! Its impressive speed takes you from 0-80mph in less than 2-seconds, so trust us when we say that this ride isn’t for the faint-hearted!

You’ll ascend 205-feet into the air, giving you a fantastic view of the park- if you can keep your eyes open that is.

Wicker Man

Wicker Man at Alton Towers

If you haven’t heard of Wicker Man yet, this is the newest roller coaster at Alton Towers. This epic ride is the first wooden coaster to be built in the UK in over 20 years, and it’s a must-try. Don’t be fooled into thinking that because this is a wooden coaster it’s going to be tame, because this ride actually features fire and a 58-foot burning effigy of the Wicker Man himself!

You’ll race through dark tunnels, battle surprise drops and speed right through the Wicker Man’s chest, not just once, but three times! There’s smoke, fire, water and much more, so be sure to look out for the amazing special effects when you try it yourself. If you want a serious thrill ride, this is it!

Saw: The Ride

Saw: The Ride at Thorpe Park

If you like horror movies, this is definitely the ride for you. In fact, this coaster is the kind of scary ride that you can’t help but want to ride over and over again! It also happens to be the first roller coaster in the world that’s inspired by a horror movie.

Before the ride even begins, you’ll come across a very familiar face, but it might not be someone you want to see! That’s not the scariest bit though. Get ready to climb 100-feet into the air before facing a “beyond vertical” drop of 100-degrees! You’ll hear the screams echo through the park from this one but don’t let that put you off. This really is a theme park ride worth trying.

Dragon’s Fury

Dragon's Fury at Chessington World of Adventures

This is one of the most popular roller coasters at Chessington World of Adventures. It’s a firm favourite with park guests, so make sure you check it out early to avoid the crowds. While we’d definitely still class this as a thrill ride, this is probably one of the tamer coasters on our list.

Chessington World of Adventures have rated this coaster suitable for “brave adventurers”. So, if you’re visiting with the family and have some brave adventurers in your group, this is a great one to ride together as it seats four guests at a time. Each ride is totally unique (depending on who sits where!) as you never know which way you’re going to twist, turn and spin.

Oblivion

Oblivion at Alton Towers

If you love fast roller coasters, you’ll definitely want to try Oblivion. This incredible attraction is the fastest roller coaster at Alton Towers and the third fastest coaster in the UK, reaching top speeds of 68mph! We absolutely love it and think that you will too.

Oblivion is a record-breaking ride, that was the world’s first ever vertical drop roller coaster! If you were wondering just how big that drop is, it’s a 180-foot vertical drop. Alton Towers advise guests not to look down, but when you’re waiting for the dreaded drop, you won’t be able to help it. You’ll be suspended at the top for what seems like eternity, before plummeting into total darkness and racing around the track at speeds of up to 68mph!

Rita

Rita at Alton Towers

This ride is all about speed, with Alton Towers claiming it’s the “ultimate coaster for speed freaks”! You’ll face an anxious wait for the lights to turn green, before being catapulted forwards, going from 0-62mph in just 2.5 seconds! Sounds good, right?

Prepare for hills, drops, twists and turns as you race along the track at top speed powering through a dark forest into the unknown.

Nemesis Inferno

Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park

This coaster may not be the fastest on our list but don’t underestimate it! This thrilling ride offers an incredible experience, subjecting you to 4.5 times the force of gravity! You’ll spin, dive and swoop over 750-metres of track at speeds of 50mph to escape the rising heat of a steaming volcano!

If you’re a big roller coaster fan, you have to add Nemesis Inferno to your list. The thrilling corkscrews and exciting loops make this a must-do ride.
